Next Commercial Project

Location: Morrisville, NC
Architect: McClentic Design with Tina Bernard Designs
Contract Amount: Phase I - $60,864, Phase II - $237,850

The goal of Special Olympics is to help bring people with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected and given a chance to become productive citizens. In North Carolina, Special Olympics involves more than 38,000 athletes who have intellectual disabilities making it one of the largest special olympics programs in the world. Both renovation projects were initiatives that supported the programs growth.

The 2,500 square-foot Phase I renovation involved building a new party wall that created an additional warehouse area to return square footage back to the property owner – Trinity Partners. Additionally, this phase included providing new lighting and gas service to the roof top unit. This portion of the project was completed in four weeks. The 7,813 square-foot Phase II of the project included roof top unit replacements, a new audio visual setup in its conference room, new carpet, paint, ceiling tile and lights throughout the office space. Phase II also involved renovating walls to the new floor plan along with installing new finishes and fixtures to bathrooms and the employee break room. This portion of the project was completed in eight weeks.
