Project Overview
The new UNC Rex Cancer Center is a four-story, 144,000 SF building just minutes from the main campus and provides the latest cancer treatments and services to thousands of patients. The center also features updated oncology services with ample space.
The UNC Rex Cancer Center was developed through collaboration with patients, families, medical professionals, and others to ensure it meets the needs of those it serves. Among its new offerings is a “Quality of Life Clinic,” providing various support services for cancer patients, such as behavioral health care, palliative care, rehab services, and holistic treatments.
The infusion areas have been redesigned to provide a more spacious and brighter environment for patients and their families. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art radiation treatment equipment. Additionally, the facility features artwork donated by local patrons and supporters, including two striking murals, to create a soothing and healing atmosphere.
The new center boasts easy access and ample free parking, making it convenient for patients and visitors. Given the region’s aging and growing population, along with advancements in detection and treatment, UNC Rex anticipates a continued increase in demand for its services, with thousands of oncology patients already being seen annually.
