Location: West Martin Street, Raleigh, NC
Architect: Clearscapes
Contract Amount: $54 million
Raleigh Union Station, a joint initiative of the North Carolina Department of Transportation Rail Division and the City of Raleigh, will be a vibrant and active multi-modal transit center. Built in the old Dillon Supply Viaduct building in downtown’s Warehouse District (built in the 1940s), the project includes the renovation and expansion of an old warehouse, which will serve as the train station; road work; a 900-foot railway platform; and a dynamic civic plaza. The facility will replace the existing Amtrak Station, which experiences overcrowding and lacks the adequate platform size to serve longer trains.
Holt Brothers Construction is working on this CM@R project in partnership with Clancy & Theys Construction and Skanska. Specifically, the firm is responsible for the railway platform and the civic plaza.
