Our Community

Success is not just measured by the revenue a company makes, but also by the investment it makes in the community. To that end, Terrence and Torry Holt are committed to giving back to the communities where they live and work.

Holt Brothers Foundation

Through their foundation, the Holt Brothers support programs that assist children who have a parent with cancer. The brothers lost their mother to the disease, and understand the emotional challenges young people face when a parent is diagnosed with cancer. The KidsCan! Program at area hospitals help young people cope with the emotional challenges families face. And their support of Camp Kesem gives kids aged 6 to 16 the chance to spend a week at summer camp – escaping the pressures of daily life and allowing them just to be kids.

Scholarships

As a nod to their alma mater, the Holt Brothers underwrote a $100,000 scholarship endowment to benefit NC State University football student-athletes. As ambassadors for the University, they devote their time and energy to promoting and helping the school that gave them so much.

Holt Brothers Construction also underwrites a scholarship at Wake Tech for minority students studying construction management, with a focus on advancing students studying at the Vernon Malone College & Career Academy.

Community Involvement

Torry served on the Capital Campaign to raise money for the Southeast Raleigh YMCA project — a “purpose built” campus that will include a new Y, affordable housing, a middle school and retail options. Additionally, Holt Brothers Construction made a significant contribution to support the effort. Likewise, Terrence serves as a member of the Durham Sports Commission.

Organizations that have benefited from the Holt Brother’s generosity through donations include Band Together, the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club of Durham, Communities in Schools of North Carolina, the American Heart Association, Meredith Autism Program, the Tammy Lynn Center, Eastern Guilford High School, Gibsonville Elementary School, and Gibsonville Parks & Recreation.
