Project Overview
The proposed Gateway project includes several key features designed to enhance the park and its surroundings. The project will introduce a new entrance to the park, extend Grissom and/or Daladams Street, and add a segment of a multi-use greenway within the park’s boundary. Temporary parking areas and transit stops will be established for improved accessibility. The design also incorporates new public gathering spaces such as civic plazas, cookout zones, and play areas. A water feature or fountain will be installed, along with pedestrian paths, landscaped areas including lawns, gardens, and plant beds, and various hardscape elements. The park will be further enhanced with site furnishings and new architectural pavilion structures with restrooms to support park programming. Additionally, renovations will be made to one of the two historic houses located within the project area.
